About SPEC

Protect e-collars.
Save lives.

The Society for the Protection of Electric Collars campaigns to keep electronic collars legal for individual owners and trainers in England.

Our position

Effective options.
Accountable use.

A fair welfare assessment must include the consequences of taking an effective capability away.

SPEC opposes a ban and new collar-specific restrictions on sale, possession or responsible use. We ask government to retain existing animal-welfare protections and judge misuse by the conduct and harm involved.

Our publication brief draws together evidence of interrupted predation, rapid learning, retained avoidance and treatment of specified aggression, alongside conservation practice, research criticism and official policy records.
